It’s a brand new month, so we are expecting a new updates from the messaging app… Some updates are line up already, and we think you should know about it, some of which will be rolling out in the coming weeks.

Unread Chat Filter

WhatsApp will be releasing unread chat filter for WhatsApp Desktop which allows you to quickly find certain chats. This feature is limited to only businesses, but WhatsApp want to make it available to standard WhatsApp accounts users.

As you can see in the screenshot above, what we have is an unread chat filter. But the feature is under development.

View Once

WhatsApp is releasing the ability to send view once photos and videos, and voice notes on the Universal Windows Platform version.

There is now a view once button when sending photos and videos. In addition, WhatsApp is finally releasing the ability to send voice notes… After introducing this feature, more users may finally consider switching to the UWP version.

The feature is rolling out today, so just download the latest beta version from Microsoft store.

Editing Text Messages

WhatsApp is finally working on the ability to edit text messages for a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop.

WhatsApp is developing a new option that will let it users edit text messages, which will finally be able to fix any typo after sending a message. At the moment, we don’t know if there will be an edit history to check previous versions of edited messages or not.

There is currently no timeframe for when this feature will be released to the public just yet. There is more, but we’ll pulse here.
